Testimonials

“I was specifically looking for a Christian counsellor that could help  me.   I have definitely found that with Nancy. Healing has begun with specific techniques and interventions. I will continue with the sessions and highly recommend it to anyone.”

"Nancy spotted co-dependency issues in my relationship with my partner. She recommended relevant material to read which was eye-opener straight away.
I have made some significant changes and I can stay accountable not to fall into the old patterns with her help."

Anna, 35, Teacher

"I had struggled with low self esteem since I was little. Nancy helped me to explore my Core Beliefs and the one that came up was "I'm not good enough" We worked together to find the root of it. Identifying this was a breakthrough for me. Although I struggle sometimes with self-image,  I have a healthier view of myself now.

Treatment Approach

I don't believe "one size fits all" I'd like to explore what the presented issue is and see what model would work best to overcome it.
Most people seek therapy for two reasons:
1) The circumstance they are in (eg. difficult marriage) or
2) The feelings that circumstance brings (eg. hopeless).
They may believe that "If only my circumstances were different or these feelings were lifted or improved, my life would be okay..."
I help clients to look beyond the obvious. Sometimes it might take adjusting some thoughts, other times, looking into past wounds that reinforced certain present issues.

         Therapy plan

I offer a complementary consultation on the phone (15 minutes). We use this time for any question you may have regarding the counselling. No booking obligation.

Once an appointment is booked, I send 3 forms to fill out: basic personal information, counseling agreement and online counselling agreement.

First session: Assessment. This session will last 1 hour. It will include a set of questions regarding your previous (or none) counselling experience, lifestyle and health, mental health and counselling goals.

I propose we meet for 6 weeks in a row and on the 6th session we do a short (10-15 minutes) evaluation to see what's worked, what hasn't, what we should do more of, or less of and most importantly we explore if there is anything "we are not talking about" After this evaluation will be able to assess how to continue the therapeutic process.

Cost of session and payment

Each session is £50.

There is a waiting list for reduced fees. Please enquire here.

Payment: Bank, PayPal and cash (if we are meeting in person)

How long are therapy sessions?

The duration of therapy session is 50 minutes for the counsellee.

The counsellor spends about 15 additional minutes (5 minutes before the client joins the session to read through the last meeting and 10-15 minutes after the session to write notes on significant points that came up during the session)

How long will I be in therapy?

This is very much dependent on the issue. I propose to have 6 sessions in a row. Evaluate progress and discuss the way forward. Some clients want to work on a very specific issue and end sessions when the desired goal has been achieved. Other trauma-based experiences take longer to unpack and heal. Yet, some other people's therapeutic process came to a closure but they want to have “maintenance sessions” once a month or even more sporadic.
